Testimonials

“After the sudden passing of our sister, the funeral planning process coincided with both the Christmas and New Year holidays, which set us back in finding a suitable celebrant. Jo came on board with seven days notice and immediately took hold of the proceedings and of us, holding us together in pulling together the best send off possible. Jo put our minds to rest and nothing was too difficult a request, even up to the last minute on the day of the service with some additional readings, etc. As a family, we do believe that Jo came to us by fate, her manner is entirely comforting at the time when we most needed that, she was understanding and her personal touches made all the difference at such a difficult and heartbreaking time. We cannot begin to recommend Jo enough, a wonderful celebrant whom we will keep in mind for the future.”

“From the moment we first met, I knew Jo was special! The fact our initial meeting was held on Zoom made the connection formed all the more significant. I felt instinctively that we had found the right person to guide us through the most difficult of times.

Jo listened carefully, seemed to understand instinctively what was needed, helping us to plan and create a meaningful service for our lovely mum. Jo showed thoughtfulness and compassion throughout, holding us in our grief. We were able to go at our own pace and never felt under any pressure to do more than we could manage at the time, then somehow we managed to find the strength to face the funeral.

Being so involved was helpful and for us an important part of the healing process. The service was beautiful and a wonderful tribute to our lovely mum. Afterwards Jo continued holding us in her thoughts with kind, supportive messages.

Jo went above and beyond the call of duty, it felt as though we had found a companion on our journey, someone very special to lead the way and help us all at the most desperate of times.

Thank you Jo for everything!”

“I just wanted to thank you for everything you did in the weeks before the service and on the day. I thought it went really well, the tone was just right and you captured dad perfectly. A number of people commented to me about what a good service it was. You made the process as easy as possible for me and as strange as it is to say, I’m sure my dad would have approved of it.”

“Our brother passed away and from our first contact with Jo we knew we had the right person to make his funeral exactly what he would have wanted. She went above and beyond in her duties as a celebrant. Jo, we can’t thank you enough for all you did for us to make it a very special day for our family. You are a very special lady.”

From my initial enquiry all the way through to saying goodbye at the end of the service, engaging with Jo to be the celebrant at my mothers funeral was the best decision I made and I simply cannot praise Jo highly enough.

Jo turned a sad event into a beautiful celebration, and this was a sentiment shared not only by myself and my family, but also by the guests that attended my mothers funeral service.

From our initial telephone conversation which provided Jo with the information she needed to prepare the eulogy, everything seemed incredibly easy.

Jo kindly arranged for the Order of Service to be designed and printed, and the end result was beautiful.

Jo suggested some beautiful ideas, in particular the placing of my mothers favourite flowers on my mothers coffin, by each guest. This made the service very inclusive and it was beautiful moment for everyone who attended.

Jo had the perfect blend of empathy and professionalism throughout the whole process, and never was this more so than during the service. One of the guests in attendance asked me if Jo knew my mother personally, such was the sincerity in everything Jo said throughout the service.

Giving Jo a 5 star rating doesn’t seem anywhere near generous enough because, as I have already said, choosing Jo as the celebrant was the best decision I made and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone.

Jo delivered the most wonderful service for our father’s memorial and I cannot thank her enough.

We had the challenging situation of postponing the event due to Covid restrictions earlier in the year, and so we had quite a few months to plan and really curate our event. From our first meeting on Zoom way back in the spring, I knew we were in safe hands with Jo, who really listens and cares, and was extremely considerate in understanding the right tone we wanted to strike to celebrate our dad in the best way. She was patient with numerous emails and drafts back and forth as we fine tuned the order of the service, and she took care of all the technical set up stuff on the day.

The end result was a beautiful and seamless service, which was light and full of love.

Thank you Jo. I recommend her wholeheartedly!

Jo was referred to us by another celebrant and we hired her without looking her up. After just chatting to her at our first meeting I knew she would be perfect. So gentle, understanding, caring and very pretty.

She wrote the most beautiful address for mummy and delivered it with such a lovely voice with feeling and empathy. (Even a Joyce Grenfell voice at one point as requested)

She helped me write the eulogy and completely supported and encouraged me to mention a grandchild that had died at a very young age. I’m so pleased Ben was mentioned. Jo took responsibility for the service sheets, music, photos and even brought some lovely herb bouquets from her garden. Nothing was too much and we felt we completely got the service we wanted. The family can not recommend Jo enough as a celebrant. Just wish I had read her details and seen that she can sing too! A very grateful family.
