How I Work

If you do require my services, we will have a meeting to discuss arrangements and for me to listen to your memories of the person who has died.

Our meeting will usually last between one or two hours. A few days later I will provide you with a draft script including the eulogy which you can then edit and approve so we are both fully prepared.

Organising a funeral can be daunting. It’s helpful to have a structure. This allows me to help you organise the funeral ceremony that you want.

Your ceremony will probably include the following elements for which I can provide guidance and support.

Introductory music

Words of welcome

 Thoughts on life and death

Eulogy/Tributes

Reading of poetry/prose

Reflection…short period of silent reflection - possibly including some music

Committal

Closing words/Thanks on your behalf/invitation to reception

Exit music

Together we will discuss an ‘Order of Service’ including any personal tributes from family and friends and selecting any readings or music you may wish to include.

Writing and reading a eulogy in the midst of loss can be a daunting task.

I will weave your memories, words and love into a eulogy that captures the life and personality of your loved one; a eulogy I am happy to deliver or be there as your voice should the occasion be too much.

On the day of the funeral I will greet you at the chapel or crematorium and lead you and the congregation through the service using the agreed script. I will introduce and provide support to anyone who wishes to read, participate or make a tribute.
